The Thor’s Thunderbolt is a mysterious cross developed by Rebecca Johnston and Trevor Griffiths in Australia. The pepper gets its name from its lightning-bolt shape. The plants, with dark foliage, produce an abundance of spectacular fruits that transition from deep purple to a cream-peach hue at maturity. Its wrinkled and bumpy skin gives it an incomparable appearance and aesthetic. Despite its heat, the Thor’s Thunderbolt stands out with a fruity and slightly sweet flavor, not to mention its unique look.

Isolated vs non-isolated plants

At Sick & Twisted Pepper Seeds, we take care to isolate a large portion of our crops. Each of our variety descriptions indicates whether the seeds come from an isolated or non-isolated plant.

Isolated Plants: Controlled pollination (nets or distance) to prevent cross-pollination. The seeds are pure and true to the original variety: shape, color, taste, and heat.

Non-Isolated Plants: Free and natural pollination by insects, which can cross several varieties. When cultivated, these new combinations are unstable.
