The Musketeers is a recent French variety, obtained by Bruno Fournier from a lineage derived from a cross between Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye × Indigo Rose, originally created by Brad Gates. It was finalized around 2017 and named during the plant festival at the Château de Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard, in tribute to the nickname “the Musketeers” given to the Tomatophile / Cultive ta rue team. The indeterminate plant is vigorous and very productive, bearing numerous globe-shaped fruits, which are round to slightly flattened. At maturity, the tomatoes turn from a green streaked with pink and purple to a multicolored palette: cream, golden yellow, orange, deep red, with dark anthocyanin shoulders. The flesh is meaty, tender, juicy, with a sweet, rich, and well-balanced flavor, ideal for fresh eating, colorful salads, sauces, and even baking, making it very versatile in the kitchen.
