Fried Chicken

The Fried Chicken is an Italian creation by hybridizer Rocco Maltesi, developed around 2016-2017. It resulted from a cross between BBG Mamp and Jay’s Peach Ghost Scorpion, two superhot varieties known for their potency and irregular shapes. Originally, this lineage went by the nicknames “Bubblegum Skin” or “BubbleSkin”. But around 2023, photos shared by growers Jeff Hobbs and Alex Casillas on social media inspired a new name: Fried Chicken, in reference to its striking resemblance to a crispy piece of fried chicken, and the name has stuck ever since. The Fried Chicken is a vigorous and productive variety. Its slightly sweet and earthy flavor is accompanied by extreme heat.
