Chili de Arbol Choco

The Chocolate Chili de Arbol originated from a natural variation recently discovered in 2024 by Gerald Lunz of FuegoFruitCo in Texas within his Chili de Arbol Oaxaca crop. He shared seeds from this discovery with us, and all plants grown from this generation produced chocolate brown fruits. While the lineage is isolated, the recessive red gene may occasionally reappear, which is why the color cannot be 100% guaranteed. The long, thin, and glossy fruits ripen from green to chocolate brown. Their moderate heat is accompanied by a slightly smoky flavor, offering an even more complex and refined taste profile than the red type.
