The Bear Tooth is an experimental interspecific cross, created by Patrick Wilson. This project combines two distinct chili pepper species: Vampire (Annuum) x Sugar Rush Stripy (baccatum). The seeds originate from an F3 plant, meaning the generation we are offering here is F4 (2025). Stability appears well-established, with no plants showing a different phenotype during cultivation. Its fruity and sweet taste clearly resembles that of its parent, the Sugar Rush Stripey, but with a bit more heat.

Isolated vs non-isolated plants

At Sick & Twisted Pepper Seeds, we take care to isolate a large portion of our crops. Each of our variety descriptions indicates whether the seeds come from an isolated or non-isolated plant.

Isolated Plants: Controlled pollination (nets or distance) to prevent cross-pollination. The seeds are pure and true to the original variety: shape, color, taste, and heat.

Non-Isolated Plants: Free and natural pollination by insects, which can cross several varieties. When cultivated, these new combinations are unstable.
