Aji Norteno

The Aji Norteño is a traditional Peruvian variety originating from the coastal valleys of northern Peru. Locally known as the “Aji of the North,” it is celebrated for its vigorous growth, exceptional productivity, and thick flesh, making it one of the best baccatum for culinary use. The fruits are large and elongated, with dense, crunchy flesh. They ripen from light green to a vibrant red. Their slightly sweet and fruity flavor reveals subtle, aromatic notes reminiscent of green apple. The plant, naturally vigorous and large, remains easy to cultivate and tolerates cooler climates than most tropical varieties.
