Olho de Mutum

The Olho de Mutum, which means “mutum’s eye” (a wild bird from Brazil), is a traditional Brazilian variety originating from the Minas Gerais region. Cherished for generations, it stands out with its complex aromatic profile, simultaneously fruity, slightly smoky, and citrusy, combined with a moderate heat that makes it very versatile in cooking. Its thin and aromatic flesh releases a beautiful intensity without being overpowering. The small, round, and glossy fruits transition from pale green to dark purple, then develop magnificent pink and peach hues upon ripening. The plants are vigorous and very productive, yielding many uniform small fruits throughout the season.
