The Ghost of Cayenne

The Ghost of Cayenne is a fascinating hybrid combining the intense and fruity heat of the Bhut Jolokia (Chinense) with the elongated shape and productivity of the Cayenne (Annuum). Created approximately six years ago by Small Island Seed, the variety is largely stabilized, although slight variations in shape may still appear. The plants are distinguished by their vigor and great adaptability to varied climatic conditions. They are among the first to ripen and the last to stop producing, offering an abundant harvest throughout the season. The elongated, slender, and slightly twisted fruits ripen from green to deep red. Their flesh releases a sweet, fruity, and slightly floral flavor, balanced by the straightforward heat of the Ghost Pepper. This harmonious combination results in a pepper that is sweet, spicy, and intensely aromatic.
