CAP 455 is a rare and mild variety of Capsicum baccatum var. pendulum, originating from Bolivia and preserved in the Capsicum Accessions Program (CAP) collection. It stands out for its extremely sweet and fruity flesh, with no perceptible heat. Its taste is more reminiscent of a tropical fruit than a chili pepper. CAP 455 is a vigorous and very productive plant, offering an abundant harvest. The term “pendulum” refers to domesticated forms of Capsicum baccatum, whose fruits hang downwards, unlike wild forms with upright fruits.
