The Naga Twister Black is a variety from the controversial Brazilian producer Clayton Ribeiro. No one truly knows where this lineage comes from, nor what crosses led to its appearance. The truth is that it supposedly appeared by chance in his crops, and he named it Naga Twister Black, without any actual hybridization work or proof of its origin. We have been cultivating it for four years now, and although no selection work has been done, the variety has proven stable and reliable. Despite its controversial history, it gains popularity every year. The fruits, often twisted or coiled, hence its name “Twister,” transition from a deep, almost black purple to a palette of dark hues, finally maturing to a spectacular dark red with dark reflections. Their oily flesh offers a peppery taste, without bitterness or fruity/floral notes, making it perfect for all kinds of recipes. The plants, with their purplish foliage and almost black stems, provide an impressive yield throughout the season, making the Naga Twister Black a pepper as mysterious as it is spectacular.
