Jalapeno Brown

The Jalapeno Brown is a unique variety originating from the Canary Islands, selected by grower Peter Merle. Discovered in 2015, this pepper is believed to be the result of an accidental cross with an Ancho Mulato, giving rise to an extra-large version. The massive fruits ripen from green to deep chocolate brown. Their smoky and sweet flavor, with a mild and balanced heat, makes it an ideal pepper for cooking. The smokiness remains subtle, adding aromatic depth without overpowering the taste. The vigorous and very productive plants sometimes require staking, as the quantity and weight of the fruits can weigh down the branches.
