The Jalapeno Chernobyl is an Italian selection whose exact origin remains mysterious. This variety is distinguished by its gigantic fruits, which can reach over 30 cm in length. Despite its explosive name, its sweet and mild flavor, with non-existent or barely perceptible heat, is more reminiscent of a bell pepper. Its thick and juicy flesh makes it a choice variety for cooking. The vigorous and very productive plants often require staking to support the weight of their many massive fruits.

Isolated vs non-isolated plants

At Sick & Twisted Pepper Seeds, we take care to isolate a large portion of our crops. Each of our variety descriptions indicates whether the seeds come from an isolated or non-isolated plant.

Isolated Plants: Controlled pollination (nets or distance) to prevent cross-pollination. The seeds are pure and true to the original variety: shape, color, taste, and heat.

Non-Isolated Plants: Free and natural pollination by insects, which can cross several varieties. When cultivated, these new combinations are unstable.
