Crushed Heart

Crushed Heart is a modern creation by Brad Gates (Wild Boar Farms), launched in California in 2016. This variety stands out with its superb true heart-shaped fruits, often ending in a distinct point. The indeterminate plant has light, airy foliage and offers excellent productivity that continues until the first frosts. The fruits are bicolored, with light pink skin adorned with golden yellow stripes, sometimes accompanied by a slight purple anthocyanin blush on sun-exposed areas. When ripe, the flesh is dense, very meaty, juicy, with very few seeds, perfect for salads, cooked dishes, or making sauces. The flavor is rich, sweet, and fruity, with a remarkable balance. Crushed Heart is also one of the earliest large tomatoes, often ripening before some cherry varieties, which makes it even more appreciated by lovers of high-end beefsteak varieties.
